Almost 500 of Northern Ireland's brightest and best businesspeople attended the black-tie event at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, hosted by BBC NI presenter Mark Simpson.

A total of 13 categories, including Excellence in Marketing, Excellence in Innovation, and Young Businessperson of the Year, were awarded alongside two special awards - the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Overall Business of the Year Award. The night also featured the final of a pitching competition in which five finalists got the chance to pitch for investment of £4,000.

It is the first year MCLInsureTech Ltd has been involved with The Belfast Telegraph Business Awards, sponsoring the Excellence in Innovation award. This award was awarded to a business where innovation has been a critical part of recent development. To compete and grow in global markets, all companies need to adopt a culture of continuous improvement where constant innovation leads to improved business results.

Wilsons Auctions achieved victory in the Excellence in Innovation award sponsored by MCLInsureTech.

The company, which has eighteen sites, including nine branches in Belfast, Dublin and Portadown, has developed and introduced cryptocurrency and successfully hosted the world’s first Bitcoin auction by a private auction company.

Congratulations to Wilsons Auctions, and all the other winners!
